Inflatable Structures Technology

Engineering design, calculation and prototyping of inflatable structures for many industrial applications

Experience of over 20 years in the design, manufacturing, setup and maintenance of inflatable structures for many applications in industry.

This experience was acquired as a partner of the former company Buildair SA, a spin-off company of the International Center for Numerical methods in Engineering ( CIMNE www.cimne.com ).

Applications

Key Features of the Inflatable Structures

  • Inflatable structures are extremely efficient in applications that may need the easy transport and fast set-up of mid to large size shelters in a difficult to access environment
  • Internal clear span of shelters up to 50 m
  • Span of light weight bridges up to 30m
  • Inflatable elements can be airtight to reduce energy consumption.
  • Inflatable structures comply with space-covering needs and safety requirements with very short delivery and set-up times, and a very competitive cost.

Innovative solution for fast bridging situations to support humanitarian aid in case of natural disasters, helping in the restoration of communications by road.

Value Proposition

The reduction of weight and volume will save transport and assembly resources that can be allocated to help the affected population at critical times, optimizing relief tasks in critical events.

Technology

Tensairity technology is based on a combination of rigid elements + an inflatable  tube + a tension cable, that allows to reduce the weight of a beam up to 7 times.
